Drive Belt Info 250 ER

I have a merc belt # 57-56039 on my 1972 250 ER now.

Can somebody give me a modern belt number from a current manufacturer that would be right for this sled.

Gates from NAPA may be easiest for me, otherwise please be specific which brand, model and number I am lookin for.

Also I need the correct belt dimensions.

dayco belt is max 21-1035 just checked last week price aruond 50 bucks.

2 issues with the 1035.

It can be found considerably cheaper elsewhere

and

The MAX1035 is the closest size that Dayco makes to the Merc belt. Is is not an exact clone and has a tendency to slip as it is a little bit bigger than the Merc.

Make sure you adjust the chaincase concentric after installing the MAX belt. It will make it better but not as good as the OEM.
